Thank you for visiting the site and checking out what I have to offer. For my first blog post, I wanted to give a bit more of an in depth background on myself and share what I hope to provide through Strive Running.
I am from Clifton Park, New York (just north of Albany), but have spent the last several years split between Oneonta and Syracuse, New York for college and graduate school. I began running in high school when I joined the cross country and track teams, and immediately fell in love with the sport. While I had the opportunity to run collegiately, I opted to to train and race at the club level. Because of this, I have been able to gain experience training for and competing in races ranging from intercollegiate cross country meets (both NCAA and club) to road races of all major distances.
In August, I will be moving to Boston to begin my career as a physical therapist at Boston Physical Therapy and Wellness. However, in addition to being a physical therapist, I have always wanted to remain involved in the performance side of running and tie that into my career. So, I earned my distance running coach certification through the Road Runner’s Club of America to add to my knowledge, and started Strive Running.
Through Strive Running, my mission is to help others accomplish their running goals, whatever they may be. My previously described academic background and experience as an athlete makes me a uniquely qualified coach. Currently, all of my coaching services are based online. When you sign on to train under my guidance, you will receive a detailed, customized program based on your abilities and goals. We will remain in regular contact (phone/text/email) throughout your training cycle to answer any questions, adjust your program as needed, and keep you on track to achieve your goals. I am excited for us to get started working together! For more info, see the “Coaching Services” tab.
Additionally, I want to help foster a running community. All of my athletes will be invited to join our private Facebook page, where they can interact with and support each other throughout their training. Also, I will be sharing my own journey on this blog, and Strive Running’s Instagram and Facebook pages. I will be training right along with you all, and hope to provide some valuable insight through that process.
Lastly, I will also be posting about research, current events, and miscellaneous topics related to running on this blog.
